Why Am I So Angry…

By

Vince Del Monte, WBFF Pro Fitness Model, Certified Fitness Trainer
and Nutritionist and author of No Nonsense Muscle
Building.

I’m Going To Share A Secret That Sounds Interesting (at first)… But Will Then Make You Angry Like Me…

It’s not your fault that it’s a struggle to experience a jaw-dropping body transformation.

I would argue that the supplement, bodybuilding and diet mafia are responsible for your problems by hiding the truth from you.

It’s the same as pharmaceutical companies that are keeping you sick by treating the symptoms and never treating the actual cause of the disease.  As you know, the reason they do this is because they want us to be sick so that we will continue to buy medications.

Lots of clients I initially consult with can’t understand why they can’t change their physique.  They think they have bad genetics, a messed up metabolism or it has something to do with their age. Let me make something crystal clear to you right now – it’s not your fault, and I’ll explain why in a moment.

I Wish…

…that you just landed from Mars, and could avoid every muscle magazine, diet book and every supplement ad. If you were able to stop listening the magazines paid spokesmen and buying into their lies…

You would immediately have an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE during your body transformation and over the rest of the world out there.

You would easily be able to double your progress in half the amount of time…

Hopefully you don’t have to learn the hard way and waste thousands of hours and thousands of dollars on books, products and pills orchestrated by marketing geniuses.

That’s one reason I created my website.   I got fed up with all the hopeful and frustrated people literally wasting their hard-earned money on bogus and useless bodybuilding supplements and short term gimmicks. I even see my own family and friends (some of them are even personal trainers) getting screwed by the greedy marketers in the fitness mafia who are selling JUNK that only leaves you further from your goals while they laugh all the way to the bank.

1. I’m angry with the WEIGHT LOSS MAFIA:

Here is a list of diets that have made MILLIONS of dollars yet have a 90% failure rate…

  • Low Calorie Diet
  • Atkins / Low Carb Diet
  • Low Fat Diet
  • South Beach Diet
  • Detox Diets
  • Weight Watchers
  • Jenny Craig & NutriSystem
  • Acai Berry Diets

Can you say overwhelming and confusing?

There is so much misinformation in the weight loss and diet industry it’s sickening.   In order to finally lose your belly fat and completely change the course of your health, you must forget all of the worthless information that is in the media today. If any of these diet programs worked so well would our planet be so overweight and unhealthy? Think about this for a moment – as a society we have never eaten like this in history yet we are more unhealthy than we have ever been.

Here is the reality – 90% of all the diet books at your book store are the EXACT same.  You want to know the secret to writing a best selling diet book?  It’s simple…

Be DIFFERENT!

You need to be only slightly different!

All you need is ONE UNIQUE HOOK and you have an instant bestseller.  90% of your content can be the exact same as the last best-seller as long as you have a catchy name with a unique hook that has not been published before.

So if 90% of the diet info is the exact same as the last book – what makes you think that the 10% difference is the magical and miraculous solution this time?  Come on, you’re smarter than that.

2. I’m angry with the SUPPLEMENT MAFIA:

I recommend you stop wasting hundreds and thousands of dollars on the following so-called muscle building supplements.

  • NO-Xplode
  • Animal Pack
  • Muscle Milk
  • Syntha-6
  • Super Pump 250
  • Cell Mass
  • Hydroxycut Hardcore
  • Lipo 6
  • Higher Power anything
  • SciVation Xtend
  • True Mass
  • Anabolic Halo
  • NaNO Vapor
  • L-Glutamine Powder
  • Bulgarian Tribulus
  • Fountain of Youth Human Growth Hormone
  • Acai bull shit juice aka glorified fruit juice
  • Max CLA
  • L-Tyrosine Powder
  • HMB Fuel
  • CLA All Natural
  • Myostatin Blocker
  • Liver Tablets

…do you really want me to keep going? I think you get the point.

Almost all bodybuilding supplements DON’T WORK and are a complete joke filled with artificial flavours, fillers, binders, glue, chemicals and poor absorption rates that costs a supplement company $3-10 to produce and sell for $50-100!

Here’s how it works.  If you want to create a commodity product (low cost and high profit) then your cost for practically ANY supplement (protein powders are more expensive) is about $3 on average.  If you’re paying more – you’re getting ripped off.  If a supplement company is paying about $10 on average then it’s actually half decent!  Crazy eh?

So to summarize – it costs the mafia $3-10 to make.  They sell it to retailers like GNC or your local supplement story or online store you buy from for about $23-24.  They sell it to you for $50-100!  You see why the supplement mafia is laughing all the way to the bank?

Want to know the scary part?  The next new supplement designed just for you, has the same crap in it that the last supplement had in it and the cycle will never die until we stop becoming suckers.

3. I am angry at the Bodybuilding Mafia aka Muscle Rags…

You’ve read all the major bodybuilding and fitness magazines, books and videos that rehash the same old BS each and every month…

  • Flex
  • Iron man
  • Muscular Development
  • Muscle & Fitness
  • Musclemag International

…and others

Every bodybuilding magazine is owned and operated by a supplement company, which is why these mags look like massive supplement catalogs.  The pages are filled with drug abusing bodybuilders who tell you to train for up to 2-hours a day that only leads to muscular losses.

Every bodybuilding magazine claims they have the answers. But in fact, it is their job to keep the real answers from you so you continue to buy the supplements on the next page.

Follow their advice to gain weight, build muscle and increase strength, and you’re guaranteed only one thing. 6 months from today, you will look just like you do now! And you’ll be pissed off.

Imitating the training pro bodybuilders works for the genetically gifted and drug user but  has no practical relevance for average people like you and me.

People who are without gifted genetic potential, and don’t want syringe scars in our butts.

Not only is this training advice useless, but it will cause over-training, injuries and illness.

The so-called “experts” will not tell you that drugs and genetics were responsible for curing their problem of being a hardgainer.  They claim it’s the supplements and “better training.”

Give me a break!

Even The “Free” Sites Are Not Spot Clean…

Heck, even the best free bodybuilding sites on the Internet have hidden intentions.  I won’t mention any names but do you ever wonder how a “free” bodybuilding site can afford to pay it’s writers $2,000 to $3,000 an ARTICLE?  Or how they can afford to put half their staff on six-figure contracts?  One word: SUPPLEMENTS.  Free bodybuilding sites are cleverly disguised supplement stores.  I’m not saying it’s right or wrong – I just want you to be aware of what’s happening and why they are so happy to give you free content.  They know you’ll buy their brand new supplement that has 10x bigger profit margins than selling books and DVD’s – it’s easy money for them.

And this is why I get mad at people who say, “I can get the same information for free at so-and-so site.” I won’t argue, some of the free sites hire the best fitness authorities in the world and deliver some of the best content which I think is great.  Heck, some of the guys are even my close friends.  Just be aware that every one of their articles is cleverly disguised around marketing supplements to support their programs when their programs would work just as well without the supplements.

Is Everyone Out To Scam You…?

There are a small handful of magazines and supplements who still follow a moral compass and I applaud those individuals who have our best interests in mind.  I have nothing against companies profiting and making money as long as their is greater value exchanged to the end-user.

Ever since my eyes were exposed, I vowed to never hide behind stock photography; a well crafted sales page that over promises and under delivers or a cleverly disguised supplement store.

Behind all the deceit, greed and scams in the fitness market, I swore that I would be in the small handful of honest and passionate fitness trainers who make their living helping people, just like you, transform their lives with a no-nonsense approach.

I wouldn’t be able to continue crusading against the mafia, almost 3-years later, If I was scamming people.  You would not be reading this letter because I would have been out of business almost 3 years ago.

Anyways, the good news is you’re finally here and you can avoid the problems above by sticking with us. You know that I am the one website that will tell it to you straight.

I’m Not Trying To Twist Your Arm…

I’ll admit – my No-Nonsense system is definitely not for everyone.  It’s not for wimps, over-analyzers, complainers, know-it-all’s or tire-kickers. It requires a level of commitment and seriousness that most just can’t cut.  The truth is that my stuff will work extremely effective if you fall into the following categories;

1. You’re angry.  Not just at the mafia but angry and frustrated about your current level of progress.

2. You’re sick and tired of spinning your wheels and looking the way you do in the mirror.

3. You’re fed up with this ridiculous plateau you’ve hit and you know you deserve more for how hard you work.

If This Sounds Like You…

Then I would like to offer you the 2nd opportunity to win a free copy of my No-Nonsense Muscle Building & Six Pack DVD Series that will be made available at http://www.Only480.com on Tuesday April 7th at 12pm EST – that’s one week today.

Here Is The 2nd of 3 Contests To Win A Free Copy of my 9-disc, 12-hour No-Nonsense DVD Series…

Experiencing a body transformation from my No-Nonsense System requires two things:

On April 7th I’m providing the program in DVD format. You’re providing the commitment.

“What is the number one benefit and most important reason you want access to my No-Nonsense DVD Series?”

Demonstration of proper technique? Variety of programs? Motivation? Inspiration? Structured and progressive plans? Extra commitment from the investment? New challenge?  Fun?  A step-by-step plan? Watching me work out in fitted Under Armour? 🙂

I’m really curious to see what you have to say. The winner will be announced on Thursday.  This is a 24-hour contest that ends Wednesday April 1st at 12pm EST.

Vince

P.S. Tomorrow I’ve got a video to share from a dozen survivors who recently worked out with me at the Sheraton Hotel in L.A…

  2. Again… I have no idea why I do this to myself? I should have hired a panel of judges to make the decision for me. I’ll announce the winner on Thursday.

It’s encouraging to hear your passion and desire to be the best you can possibly be. I trust it’s encouraging for you to read each others comments to reveal that we’re all on this journey together and no one has ever struggled with an obstacle that has not been overcome. I hope you’re feeding off of each others energy here.

Okay, so I read a lot of over lapping reasons you guys want my stuff…

    – Variety…
    – Challenge
    – You want to do it right
    – “I want it bad.”
    – Strengthen weak links
    – Inspiration
    – Motivation
    – Proper technique
    – To live as healthy as possible
    – Respected by peers
    – Something new.

And many more but those ones stood out. I can give you my virtual hand shake that you will not be disappointed. It’s funny because I order A LOT of stuff on the Internet my self for many of the same reasons you guys are interested in my system.

I specifically remember watching one DVD series that blew me away. It wasnt cheap either and I wondered why the heck he charged so much but I trusted the coach who had a solid reputation after doing my homework and when I got the videos and started seeing how he trained with real weights and real intensity I instantly said, “This is how I’m doing my DVD series.”

Not to brag but I got in rock-solid shape to film this stuff. You’re going to be blown away by how inspiring the workouts are – especially the 5- Day Overdrive program you get which is the exact way i trained last summer leading up to the world fitness model championships.

You also get the exact 29-week program I used to gain 41-pounds of muscle in six months.

Again, my stuff won’t be for everyone and it’s not going to be the same investment as getting a digital e-book but I can reassure you every minute will be worth it. I hate putting pressure on people but if this sounds like something you’re interested in, be by your computer on Tuesday April 7 at 12pm EST.

I’m not a psychic but I think all 480 copies will go fast…

Thanks so much for the contribution, sharing and inspiring each other.

    Vince

P.S. There was one concerning comment that my message sounded hypocritical and I’ll reply to that in a Q and A post on Friday.

  3. The number one benefit and most important reason would be to have a new challenge because I know that our body gets accustomed to some exercises even if you choose to do variations so I would like to have more variety in my arsenal of workouts and in the mean time, I will be able to lead a more healthier life and challenge myself again and again through time. Thanks for the good advices that you post, they are very helpful to us average joes.

  4. I need something??
    I am a very active person (6 days a week ).
I am a runner ,triathlete, and go to the gym.
Have done this for 13 years now, but still in a rut to get into the best lean ,and trim, body I am looking for.
Sure I can run a marathon, or do an Ironman Triathalon, but it doesn’t give me the shape I desire, even after working out a couple hours a day in prime training season.
Help me do a transformation of getting lean, and seeing the benefits of doing a shorter workout, compare to a long slow work out.

  5. Hi Vince
As you say Vince your program may not be for everyone. I have tried other programs and have made some really good results in the fat loss area and have gained strength as well. I have been working on this for over a year now and have dropped 45 Pounds and body fat down from 30% body fat to 14.70% but that is where I have been stuck and I mean stuck. I have added and changed things around to no avail so I would look to your program as the Holy Grail in plateau busting!! Believe me when I say I have the commitment and scores of your colleagues books and have followed their advice very closely but still stuck!! Hope to see if your program has what it takes?

  6. Vince,

I am preparing to embark on a journey….a journey that is going to require a lot of commitment and knowledge on my part. I have always been skinny. I never really knew whether to think of that as a blessing or a curse….until high school. I would get lucky with the ladies, only to get pushed aside for another guy with a more muscular physique. I get bullied on a daily basis. Even my gym teacher started to tag along on the “skinny” jokes. It feels horrible knowing that I workout on a routine basis, only to show nothing for it and get stomped on. This is where my regular life comes to a screeching hault. This is when I pull together every scrap of self pride and discipline and show my fellow peers I can succeed. I have read your stories, I have watched your videos, and I have realized that if I show discipline, show I have some heart, then I too can achieve my dreams just as you did. I need a place to start and I feel, from the strong dedication you have put in, your program is where I must begin. Its like my favorite quote says, “Any man has the power to change his stars.”

Thanks and may the best be in store for you,

  7. Hey Vince,

Lately I’ve be come sick of being the ‘under-dog” in life, sick of being under-rated and laughed at so to speak, by my friends constantly working out killing themselves at the gym day in day out, yet changing no other habbits (ie eating-out) After hitting a gruesome (to me) 195lbs early this year I realized something big. I haven’t been that heavy since 2003, and i was playing rugby in high school, and i knew I wasn’t that muscular again, there was no chance in hell of that happening. After seeing that I made the decision to clean up my act, and start getting healthy again.

After finding your no-nonense muscle building and 6-pack abs in 6 months programs i began reading, and soaking up all the information i could from them slowly working up to where i felt confident to put it into a day to day practice without the fear of failing or missing that one thing that would hurt me. I was amazed at the information included but the one thing missing was “perfect” examples of each individual exercise and workout. (virtual trainer aside of course.)

Since hearing about your video’s coming out, i promised myself to buy them no matter what the state of the economy was. Why? Well because, i want the added structure, the visual representation of the workouts you described done by the very person who created the program, and the added “kick in the ass” motivation seeing them would give. Another reason is that these dvd’s will give me a means to the measure, a plan of action to be utilized with the rest of your programs. Without a goal there can be no achivement, yet without a well laid out plan there is only chaos getting to the goal, and I’m sure you know chaos only leads to frustration, waining will power to continue to the program, and the frustration effects your motivation, how you percieve your goal, and where you’ll ultimately be at the end of it.

I’m 24yrs old and have asthma, and i’m sick and tired of not having the physical energy to do anything physicaly, and fun with my friends, because I do tire out so quickly. I’ve done the UDT training from your other programs, and that was a slap in the face. It showed me I’m no where close to where i though i was physically, and got me really motivated to get my ass in gear, and i always love a new challenge! But like i said no matter what i’m going to buy thee dvd’s, it’ll provide me with a bigger investent than anything else. Using my own HARD, EARNED money to provide me the final peice of the means to reach my goals of a healthier, happier and more active life.

  8. the number one benefit is: JUST EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR HAVING SUCCESS ALL IN ONE BIG PACKAGE. Its like having the treasure’s map and the tools, you’ve got the way, the description, the knowledge of how many steps, you’ve got the direction of EVERY step, the shovel and every tool you need, you’ve got a plan of “what to do in case of” any risk, a plan to keep off bad advice/products and even the motivation and inspiring plan for those dark days, everything you need for getting your goal.

I purchased both the “Six pack quest” as I need to cut first and the “No non sense Muscle building” I am amazed how much quality information you gave me, more than the value of the money, years of experience and every tool I need. I have lost 14 pounds of fat so far in just 6 weeks, it was exactly as you said 1% of fat weekly I started to see changes in my body composition and my partners at work started to ask what am I doing? Is it a new diet? (as they already know my efforts to keep fat and weight in check) no, I answer is Vince del Monte, my trainer. Now I know everything I need to never have that yo-yo effect I had when dieting, your system teach me the reasons why just dieting without exercise is not a solution, the risk and how to finally get rid of the ugly fat.

I have a friend who is in a cutting phase as well, he has a very strict diet from his personal trainer though I have loose more fat than he in less time, I think he has not realized that he can be fat eating brocolli and chicken breast all day (I learned that from you 😉 ) I told him about Vince del Monte, I told him about your system, every time we talk he is very interested, but as you also told us, he is so confused for all the magazines he read, I know I will get better results than he just because a lot of flaws his system has (I know that because I really hard Study your system)

Personally I like how clear you put thing, you Make us think, make changes, not be just robots, what you say is straight without messing around, things as they are, I like the way you ask about my commitment, is it really 10 out of 10? Am I willing to get into the hurt box? (YES I AM), is this party/drink/cake put me closer or farther of my goal? Is my hard work performance or goal oriented? Am I really trying to make every day/workout count ? Am I experiencing oxigen debt? No? (THEN I NEED MORE INTENSITY) I have learned all this and much much more from you, really I have learned a por and I want to say thanks Vince!!

For me it has been a step by step system very well structured, that create a solid base first and progresively demand more and more challenge for me it has been very inspiring and motivating as well. I like all the information you keep sharing with us, the interviews, audio reports, e-mails, I can tell every time I receive an e-mail from you I literally “devour” the content as I already know the quality of the information you share with us…

Again Vince all I can I say is Thanks !!!

I would like to keep learning from you and I know WITHOUT ANY DOUBT that following your system I will have success in getting my goal and as everybody knows an image says more than a thousand words…

  9. Hey Vince Jordan Kelly here from the UK. First off for me Vince, The number one benefit i want to access to your No-Nonsense DVD Series, is because time and time again when im in the gym, and i see some guy with big guns and Cahoonas for his arms and a rock solid physique, well i just want to stop him during his workout, in the locker room, and pick his brains, What workout, and diet plan does he do. How many reps, how many sets ? Does he do compound or isolation exercises for his muscles. What Specific exercises does he to get those big guns. This DVD Series will finally open my eyes to whats going on with the guys who just get it in the gym, and also on what others are doing in the gym,and not really getting any results. I believe this will truly set me apart and really give me a bodybuilding education on what it takes to build a world class body to be proud of. Nevermind my limiting genetic factors this DVD will finally give me a fail proof plan to finally succeed in this secret Bodybuilding and fitness Industry. I want a real education on what it truly takes to set myself apart and build my own body and sculpt my own chiseled physique.

You know Vince If you do ask guys in the gym about what they do, they dont want to reveal to much. Vince here in the UK it doesnt come cheap for a 1 to 1 personal Trainer, probably about £30 an hour, but with your DVD’s i can have a Plan. Youve heard the Quote saying before havent you Vince,

A man without a plan is like a ship without a destination.

I kinda wish Vince I lived nearer to you,or you me man, that way i could hire you, and without a shadow of a doubt i would not hesitate for a second in hiring you as my personal trainer. personal Trainers dont come cheap but Fees to you would be giving me a world class education, that money just cant buy.

The most important reason I want access to your No-Nonsense DVD Series is because

I cant train with you 1 to 1 Vince, but you have done the next best thing for me, Having your Training DVD ‘S will be like you actually being there with me, and the next best thing to have you working out with me as a 1 to 1 Personal Trainer. Its like your holding my hand, guiding me, and mentoring me every step of the way

This kinda Training will also compliment my Training for when i become a Personal Trainer Next year. To be trained by you Vince would be an honour and to finally have the education that you give in your No-Nonsense DVD Series will be a Real Blessing to me.

I want to have the guts to make a stand, and when everybody else criticises me, puts me down, and Everybody says it cant be done I want to Say I JUST DID IT. I want to take accountability for what i do from now on, and make a statement saying

“This is me, this is what i did, now what is really stopping you”. I gotta be a Winner in the gym and own a body to be proud of.

I love the quote by Marthin Luther King

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Ideally Vince we need to all live by the philosophy of George- Bernard Shaw, and not make excuses

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, make them. Quote by George- Bernard Shaw

I just know for a fact That i will get up and look for the Circumstances i want ,and find that solution to building a world class body in your No-Nonsense DVD Series.

I gotta be a winner in this life with a roaring heart on fire and the Blood of a champion.

    Warm Wishes.

  10. If the guy who used to be a powerlifter doesn’t win, well, I hope I do then!
I play rugby which is a ver physical sport, specially in my position. As a natural ectomorph I have clearly exceeded what most expected to be my “zenith”. I am 1.93cm tall and weigh around 210 lbs, even so I am realizing with each day the truth about the phrase “the body is at the mind’s disposal”.
I am constantly looking for new methods to enhance my performance. I recognize my limitations… and thus I can overcome them. I am reading “upside down training” and want to hear more from you.
    Cheers and keep in touch!

  11. Hello,

    Why I want your stuff?

Benefit: I will get a lot of no-nonsense stuff and a great body! Benefit are your great tips-that’s why i want it.

Reason: I want it because I’m tired of Mafia like u said and tired of being hardgainer so I’m really not that motivated anymore!
The Main reason is to change my body, how others look at me, self-confidence and most importantly my life.

  12. The benefit I most want is to be healthy. I have a 2 year old daughter and I want to be there for every moment in her life as long as I can. I’ve tried everything to get in shape and I’ve had very minimal success. I eat only healthy real, raw food and I work out almost everyday, but the most I can do is lose 1 to 2 pounds a month. I lift weights, but I don’t seem to get any stronger. I would love to have access to a program that would truly help me. I have the will power and determination, it just seems like I must not know the correct thing to do.

I’ve always wanted to be strong . . . but I just can’t gain that strength! I need your program Vince. I need it to restore happinness and self-satisfaction to my life.

In a nutshell, that is what I am looking for.

  14. Demonstration of proper technique? Variety of programs? Motivation? Inspiration? Structured and progressive plans? Extra commitment from the investment? New challenge? Fun?………….Besides all of this it’s pretty simple……. I just want to live!! And to live I need to be healthy…I want to feel the pain of the man ripping me off as I try to put my daughter through college…Well in 16 years anyway!

  15. No 1 reason for the DVD is simply because by watching you working out you give us motivation to suceed and we can see the proper form of the Ex’s. I enjoy watching your videos and putting into action what i’ve learnt. My biggest hope is that be seeing the workouts i can see the correct tempo’s and speed for what your doing. I wander also whether you can shorten the sets/reps cause being so busy, don’t have time to do all of it. Thanks.

  16. OK NOW I’m mad, Vince. I really do try and do the right thing every day and keep a positive mental outlook. I can’t imagine going through life negative, distrusting people/companies that I thought had my best interest at heart or being cynical. I’m not naive…I know that people in business are looking to make money and that people lie (thus, our current economic problems). It’s all part of life and that’s why it’s a daily challenge to keep the weeds out of my mental garden! Having said that, I think we all are just painfully HUMAN. And humans are emotional beings and we want to believe and trust and put our faith in those who talk to us about our deepest desires…and for me, it’s been to lose weight, get into shape and FINALLY not look like a slob. So when I see, read or hear an ad from one of the supplement/diet “mafia”, we both know that they open that wound and that they poke their finger in that wound and then say “I can make it better…trust me…it’s worth it…”. And like a sucker…an emotional sucker…the switch goes off in my head and I trust and believe ONE MORE TIME.

I can’t tell you the hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars of “trust and belief” that I’ve given those guys…I’m reminded of the movie “Network” where one of the characters rants, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!”. Well, I’m here to tell you, I’m mad and I’m not giving those clowns another dime.

Having said that, I DO want to thank you for what you’ve done SO FAR. In the 6 months that I have scratched and clawed bits and pieces of your information and workout philosophy, I have had more results (THE RIGHT WAY) than all the supplements and diets combined. 8% of body fat GONE (and more to go) AND at age 46, I’m physically stronger now than when I was 27 (seriously!), all from hard work and it hasn’t been easy. If I’ve been able to gain that much strength and muscle and cut that kind of fat, not feel hungry but energized, feel healthier, knees and ankles don’t hurt anymore…if I can do that from just 1% of your knowledge and experience, the possibilities are endless if I get the other 99%.

Because of you, amigo, I WILL have 6-pack abs (for the first time), I WILL look 20 years younger, I WILL be and feel healthier than ever, I WILL turn heads and last but certainly not least, I WILL do my part to expose said “mafia” and WHEN I do, I won’t be “mad as hell” anymore…I’ll just turn them on your program! Keep up the great work!

  17. Vince,
Great post. I think Heather and Karen are correct: a little proof reading would help. A 90% success rate would be incredible and I’m sure a mis-print.

Mind if I use some of this in a talk I’m giving to fellow employees? (credit where it’s due, of course!)
There are only a few companies I regularly buy from: Life Extension Foundation, Hammer Nutrition (for endurance fuels), Garden of Life. Everything these guys sell is backed by CREDIBLE science and posted. they always list EVERY INGREDIENT and in the amounts. I encourage everyone to visit Life Extension – they are one of the most credible organisations on the planet. http://www.lef.org check out their history and references on every product.
I will on occasion buy from NOW and Optimum, but only those products that are readily available elsewhere and that are not “patented”. A local wholeseller keeps cost down.
The only product I have gotten any accelerated real muscle growth from is CREATINE with sugar (Phosphagen HP by EAS). I’m sure there are others that are as effective – I’m not going to bother trying them.

    To your health.

  18. To Reaver who commented above :

Before I said anything, I don’t know Vince personally and I am in no way employed by Vince or nobody asked me to write this.

You may say Vince is hypocritical, it is your opinion and you have right to express yours. The fact that your comment did not get deleted only shows that Vince is honest about getting feedback.

To me, Vince comes across as a straight talking honest guy who just make his own living. Asking him to give away everything free like you mentioned does not even make sense to me.

In Vince’s post, he has also mentioned that he has nothing against those big companies making money out of people. Just do not make any deceptions and lies to make money. That is what Vince has pointed out. His wordings might be a bit strong but at least I believe that is what he meant.

For instance, let’s see any fat loss or diet pills company’s claims about “research” to support their ingredients. Most of the time, the “research” they claim is one or two individual ingredients in their pills – mostly ephedra and caffeine and/or green tea extract. Moreover, they do not even disclose how much quantities of those ingredients are in their pills. Some are in so low a quantity that it looks good on ingredient list and on paper but nothing effective.

Anyway, low-carb diet, Atkins diet may work for some but they definitely are not in majority. If they were, Atkins diet will still be in rages and still be the king just like in 80s and will not be considered as fad by today’s standard.

  19. I will keep my answer short for this one: motivation and inspiration as well as someone like you – how you actually trained.

I don’t want to see some juiced up on geared pro bodybuilder doing 800 pounds. I can’t relate to that. Admitted, most likely I won’t be able to lift the same poundage like you but at least I can relate.

To some minor degree, I can watch and learn the proper technique as well.

  20. The reason i want the nononsense dvd series is because i have been working out for about 2 years now, I am 17 right now, and i just reached my plateau. I have been finding new workouts on the internet for a long time, and now i feel as though my body is used to how i do things. I work hard at the gym and see pretty much no gains. Im stuck at 21% body fat, weigh 180 lbs, and going to the gym at least 5 times a week isn’t improving my physique anymore.

I want your dvd for a new challenge and i am up for the challenge. I feel like i am in good enough shape to start it, and i am very motivated because in about 2 and a half months, i am being sent to basic training for the army, where i really need to be in shape to succeed. I think a new structured diet and workout plan will help me reach my goal, because my body is used to what i normally do no matter how much i change up what i am working out because i am working out in the same old alternating workout day routine where, Monday – bench day + other tricep, chest, and shoulder workouts, Tuesday – Bicep and Back day where i do curls with dumbbells and barbells, then different kinds of back workouts; and i repeat this and do a combined workout saturday. I have been doing this for awhile now i really need something new to stimulate my muscles in a new way. My ultimate goal is to get down to 14% body fat and stay at 180 lbs.

  21. Hey Vince. My story goes like this. Like you and many others, I was never the ‘big’ kid when I was young. My first taste of lifting came at the end of high school. The summer after my junior year, I was determined to make the football team. At this point I was at a scrawny 140 lbs. I worked out for 6 months and put on about 20 pounds. I continued lifting through out the season and continued playing sports into college (I was on the swim team). My motivation for lifting was to gain functional strength for the sport I was playing and I was still never very satisfied with the way my body looked. After one year on the swim team, my coach quit and I decided to make my studies a higher priority. I wasn’t being forced to lift anymore so I started lifting alone. Within 3 months I had gone from 160 to 185, with very low body fat, through diet and exercise. At this point lifting became more of addiction than anything and unless I was sick and in bed, nothing was going to keep me from going to the gym. I seem to have leveled off in my gains recently and I am looking for something to take my game up a notch. I would like to get to around 200-205 lbs by the end of the year and I KNOW that it’s possible. I’m sure the help and guidance of a professional will help me reach my goal even faster considering I’ve been doing it mostly by myself up to this point. Thanks for all the help man!

  22. Truth be told I know that there are many out there like me who have slowly seen their lifes slide farther and farther to the side of dispair. Who bust their butts day in and day out trying to achieve something that seems so far out of reach. To push themselves to the brink only to see minimum results. So you ask why I would love to be your next contest winner I wish it was plan and simple answer but here are the reasons.

    – Motivation – seeing and hearing so many success stories only drives me to want to be one myself. To better myself for not only me, but so wife and son can see a strong husband and father in their world.

    – Getting out of the Muscle Building Rut – Until recently I was one of those lifter who only workout one body part per week, and looking back don’t know why it took me so long to change. Minimum results from following what I thought was the way things worked.

    – A Challenge – I just recently started your “Upside Down Program” and had to push myself each day to get to the end. I felt like I achieved something when I completed the very last set of abs, sitting there sweaty and out of breathe it was a beautiful moment, and it left me wanting so much more.

    – Time and Structured – I workout at the but crack of dawn before my wife and son get up, and with my old plans I never could finish my workouts, but with your tempo and rest periods, I have a guide to have a great workout in minimum time.

    – Finances – Plan and simple, when you are blessed with a new addition to your family expenses appear that you never thought about, and some things you just can’t afford.

Vince since I found your website, it has been like a new spark has been lit under me and lifting has become fun and challenging once again, and I can’t thank you enough. Also, I appreciate the chance to win your DVD Program for those of us who can afford it and would love to have it. Thanks again…

  23. Hi Vince.

I agree, the major suppliment, pharmaceuticals and mag companies are out there to make a buck. It is one reason why other who are in the know leave their own companies to go into other things. They couldnt compete financially. They manufacture quality products and try to market them at the same price, but can’t keep up because they are spending more in manufacturing with less return than the big guys who are spending less in manufacturing as well as marketing and profiting more.

I have been through several programs and seen varying degrees of success. My challenge is keeping my bodyfat low as I get older. My job is annually cyclical so there are seasons I just cant get a workout in since I am working 16-18 hours 7 days a week. Then 3 months later when things slack off, I hit the gym and work it all back off again for 3 months, and the cycle repeats.

Getting a program that will help me to work a few reps in every day at breaks during the day is what seems to help me best. Thanks for the leadership… naturally!

    Jon

  24. I was overweight for most of my life and this brough me a pletora of health problems, tipping the scale at 260 lbs and 33% body fat just 6 short months ago. That were I decided to do something and started looking for information on weight loss.

I read a lot of stuf on the web, A LOT, there is plenty of confusing and contradictory information to be found, however many seem risky and I was definetely interested in reaching my goals the most natural way possible.

After countless hours looking for something that look real, I was lucky enough to find just a hanfull of websites like yours, which believe in hard training and a natural real food diet, no BS, no false promises, no gimmicks, and no harmfull chemicals into my body.

With the advise I found here, I have lost 50 pounds and 13% of body fat. I am exstatic about my results so far, and have gotten many compliments from people, however I am not done. I am shooting for another 12% body fat loss, while kepping my current weight.

I am doing a mix of weights an cardio that has worked so far, but I am hittin a plateau. I believe variety is a big part of the secret and I know your DVD program will help me spice up my routine, giving plenty of new exercises and routines to get me all the way to reach my ideal body.

Thanks for your time, and thanks for being one of the very select few willing to tell the truth about muscle gain, fat loss and overall fitness

I’m lovin all of the info and all the great tricks and tips you’re givin out to everybody. I just graduated college where I played basketball for two different schools. Back then my problem was packin on any muscle because we ran like crazy, and I wasn’t as smart about recovery either. Now I’ve put on a little muscle, but I’ve gone from about 7-8% body fat to 14-15%. I would love to grab your No-Nonsense Dvd’s, but I’m lookin to go to grad school and don’t have extra money to throw around. I love working out and learning new ways to improve my body. And I’m pretty desperate to keep my six pack, and keep it totally shredded. Thanks for the help.

  26. Didn’t you mean 10% and not 90% in the following statement?

“Here is a list of diets that have made MILLIONS of dollars yet only have a 90% success rate…”

I agree that the diet industry does not serve the general public well. I am having great success changing my body shape by eating the way Dax Moy and Isabel del los Rios recommend and by weight training the way you and Rob Poulos recommend.

  27. You said a 90% success rate did you really mean 90 % failure rate or some other percent success rate???? You really need someone to proofread for you because after last week incorrectly interchanging vegan and vegetarian and starting out this week’s rant with some good looking statistics you are setting yourself up for failure. Even if you have the best plan in the world and could help millions of people image still accounts for something and yours is shaping up to be one of a less than detail oriented person.

  28. Vince, I am a 49 year old former wanna be bodybuilder who got sucked into all the supplement hype and only ended up poorer for the effert. I now train in my basement doing the basics and I follow a very good diet ( the only thing that i have to show for my wasted years. I eat for health not just to bulk up with garbage. ). My reason for wanting the DVD is that I need structured plan. My training seems to be all over the map. One day this and one day that. I think that this DVD would set me up with the plan that I need to finally succeed. Plus, it will give me the guidence for when my son gets old enough to start training so that he does not make the same mistakes that I did.

I have used some of your ideas in my workouts, but have not purchased the muscle building program, because I already I have a subscription to another popular internet fitness website. I have been training for over a year and am currently wrapping up 12 weeks of carb cycling to drop my body fat percentage. My problem is structure. I have problems with being inventive and imaginative enough to create a proper workout on those days when I don’t use my other program. From the many posts and sample workouts you have provided ( thanks by the way)you know your S**T. The workouts are great and I’m sure in this new edition even better. I’d like to give it try and be amazed at the results.

Between yourself and Greg Gillies I am half way point in reaching my goals., an I know with a bit more help from your DVD’s, I’ll get there. I’ve gone a very untoned and scrawny 52kg to a buffed 60kg. The weight increasement although is not huge, the shape change has been amazing. I look great. But now I want more…and like most…have hit a bit of a wall. But that will change, last night I started your free 6 week youtube program – today I can hardly walk – tomorrow I shall go even harder, and if I win the pack I will go even harder again! Wish me luck!

If you’re really angry that these companies are trying to make a profit out of people like us, you should give away your dvd for free. If not then you have no right to be angry because you’re doing the same thing they’re doing.

  37. I just started getting your newsletters, and I have a bunch of different reasons for wanting to check out your DVD. I just want to give you some background info before I start.

I was a power lifter back in 1997-98. I was 227lbs @ 17% BF, and benching 460lb, deadlifting 405lbs. I herniated my L4 & L5 vertabrea and got sciatica on my right side. These injuries have continued to haunt me, and my weight started to rollercoaster up & down. I was singing & playing guitar in a rock band, and toured around doing gigs & boozing like a rockstar. I had really neglected my health and pushed things way too far at times. Then I stupidly tried a “quick fix” on the advice of a friend (or so I thought) and did a MASSIVE cycle of HGH, Test, Clenbuterol, Winstrol, & T3. HUGE MISTAKE!! My body was all out of whack, and at that point, I had gone up to 315lbs – in less than 2 years time. My lower back got so bad I had trouble walking & standing. This also forced me to give up my music career & dreams, which sent me into a bad depression. But I never let on to anyone because they all though I was just being lazy, which hurt me even more.

Then in 2003, I got married, but ended up getting a divorce not even a year later. I started wallowing in self pitty, and continued to booze & neglect myself more than ever. I spent YEARS just comforting myself with food, and became morbidly obese – I topped off at 465lbs back in November of 2007, with a BF of 52%!! I also had to spend a week in the hospital because i almost had a heart attack at work one night. That started to open my eyes up. I was only 35.

Just this past summer in July/Aug 2008, I actually had to be in a wheelchair for three weeks because I couldn’t walk for more than 30 or 40 feet at a time. My lower back couldn’t bear the weight anymore. I started working with a dietician in Jan of ’08, but couldn’t seem to get the weight to come off – I got stuck at 377lbs for months. Then, I entered myself in the famous Brookhaven Obesity Clinic (Far Rockaway, NY), for 30 days, to rehabilitate my back & to get my eating habits under control. I was put on a 1200 cal diet, which immediately shed 35lbs off me in 30 days. I was able to get up and walk almost normally after the rehab as well. But it still didn’t educate me on how to properly change my diet & habits. I had to try & figure it out on my own.

Now, I still try to keep my diet around 1200 – 1500 cals with the help of my dietician. I go to PT 3 days a week for my back, but I’m still 318lbs. I did manage to get down to 308lbs right before X-mas, but then I plateued for 6 weeks & started gaining again. Now for my reasons of wanting this DVD set…

    1. I’m tired of being fat, plain & simple. I’m tired being the butt of everyone’s jokes & having to sit out of certain activities. My stamina SUCK!!

    2. I have neices & nephews that I want to run around with, not sit back & watch them have fun without me. I want to live long enough to see them graduate & get married one day.

    3. I just recently started performing again with a new band. My lack of cardio stamina still affects the quality of my performances. And also, since I’m now in public light & on the web, I want to feel more confident about how the public veiws my image – if I’m gonna’ be a rockstar, I wanna look like one too, lol. It affects my chances of moving further ahead in my career goals. This business is about image as much as it is about talent.

    4. NO MATTER HOW MANY DIETS & ‘ROIDS I DID, I NEVER SAW MY ABS!! I honestly don’t think I have any at this point, lol.

    5. I WANT TO LIVE LIKE A NORMAL PERSON – I want to be able to run, play sports (I started boxing for cardio & miss lifting), and start dating again. (I’m convinced that chicks don’t dig fat guys!!)

I just need something new to go by, that will help me achieve the body I always wanted but could never get. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve come a long way already (I lost a total of 147lbs since 2007), but I want to step it up to the next level. My goal is to get down to 260lbs, and shed as much bodyfat as I can. I have 58lbs to go, but now it’s harder than ever. I’m looking for solid advice on diet & exercise, and some new motivation to keep fighting. I think your DVD set can help me find what I’m looking for.

Thanks for hearing me out, and thanks for your valuable advice & tips. YOU ROCK BRO!!

  38. Hey man,

I can relate to everything you said in the article. I used to actually go to bodybuilding.com and only go to the ‘supplement’ section looking for the next ‘big’ thing. I’ve spent 1000’s of $$ on supplements for zero results. I’ve searched the net for years looking for the perfect ‘program’. I used to switch programs every couple of weeks because I’d get paranoid that the program wasn’t working. I honestly believe if it wasn’t for you I’d be still doing this. I’m not lying when I say that you are my current inspiration at getting huge. I’ve always blamed by genetics however after seeing your before photos I believe a muscular body is in my reach. My number one reason for wanting the dvd is to see you do your thing in person. I believe watching it before the workouts would be unbelievable motivation.

  39. Hi Vince!

I came across your site through a referral from Holly Rigsby. I signed up a few weeks ago to your mailing list and have been receiving your emails on a daily basis. I would like to add a comment here as an entry into your contest.

I started my weight loss journey after the birth of my son Alexander back in 2005. I weighed 265.5 lbs. I was always a very overweight girl even before getting pregnant. I tried pretty much ALL of the diets you listed in your e-mail. Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach – they all FAILED. The sad part is – I felt like the failure. I didn’t blame the programs – I blamed myself. “If only I was stronger. If only I didn’t give in to those cravings.” Each failed attempt led to depressed feelings which made me want to eat more “junk”. I was in a horrible rut and self destructive cycle.

I decided to get serious after the birth of my son and joined my local gym. I was terrified and felt like the fat girl everyone was staring at. The truth is that NO ONE was staring. This was all in my mind. My thoughts of “not belonging” and thinking people were quietly laughing at me were all in my head. I found a strong support system and for the first time in ages felt really good about myself. I’m proud to say I have gone from 265.5 lbs down to 145 lbs. I have never felt better.

Where’s the catch? I still don’t have the body I dream of!! I work so hard but I’m not there yet. I keep reading that I should cut my calories…eat more fat, cut carbs…eat more protein, drink shakes…take this energy pill etc. I feel like I have come so far but don’t know how to get that last little bit. I’m confused and don’t know WHO to believe. I feel like I’m working my butt off, eating as clean as I can but still not getting results. What gives?? I’m really scared of going back to the “feeling like a failure” stage. I know the truth is out there somewhere…I just don’t know who to believe. Can you help?

    Thanks Vince!

    Kim

  40. I’m interested in your No Nonsense DVD because I really wanna try something new. To be honest I tried two or three of the fitness magazine programms, but the results have been far behind what I expected. So I’m really excited if you live up to what you’re saying..

  41. quite simple: I’m now 51 years old… it’s NEVER too late to achieve the body of your dreams, Vince.. and seriously…I JUST WANT ‘IT’ BAD ENOUGH… that “FEELING” YOU HAVE FROM THE DEPTHS OF YOUR SOUL TO YOUR INNER BEING… maybe that sounds corny.. but it’s how I feel. I started my ‘journey” as 50th bday present to myself and Sept of ’06 I began at 212 lbs and on my own “GRIT” and determination I reached 140 lbs during that first year…I found ‘Myself” at 50 years old… I found Myself again. NOW i am ready to take it to the next LEVEL, VINCE… just exactly what am I capable of accomplishing.. the more challenging .. the more I aim for IT. I know there is NOTHING that I CANNOT accomplish.. but KNOWLEDGE is everything.. and YOU Vince.. You have that Knowledge that I am so desperately needing at this part of my journey… yes Vince.. simply put.. I WANT IT BAD… LIKE maybe you as a fellow ftiness enthusiast can understand… not many people can..i can consider “us” the “lucky ONES”… I want that DVD so I can really transform myself now…and continue to be an inspiration for the rest of us… that are over ’50’ and still going strong and being in better health physically and mentally than we were back in our 20s ~ I say HELL YEAH… JUST DO IT~

  43. I’ve been in and out of gyms for the past 12 years and saw little results. I purchasing your friend Mike Geary’s eBook in Jan 08 and basically hit a gold mine. I have come to realize and embrace the fact that I am not the same dude in the mirror anymore and that my friend is a good feeling. To tell you all the benefits from that book would take a book in itself. As like most fitness nuts I wanted to keep my interest moving, so I decided to venture to other authors. I noticed Vince was referenced through Mike’s e-letters so I started reading all his tips. When put into practice these new ideas complimented the workouts I was already doing nicely. For example, the various ab workouts using the cable (cable choppers, cable crunch) started doing some magic. I like what I have heard so far from Vince and I have to be honest I think the guy has a pretty mature look on life for his age (I’m 31 and I find myself getting a little introspective on some of his points). Also it’s cool that he’s not soft-selling this stuff like “the industry”; he lets you know right off the bat that it’s not easy. Sorry for the long lead-in, but I felt it was necessary before I answer the question below.
Now for the # 1 reason I want access. I like Vince’s talk about structuring the workouts around strengthening your weak points. When I play soccer (Currently on 3 teams, sometimes 3 games a week) I’m always reminded of that saying that you are only as strong as your weakest point. When I’m playing defense or offense and a guy jukes me or goes around me or beats me to a ball I know where that weakest link is. Although my workouts are mostly multi-joint or full-body there are weaker areas. So I like what Vince said about structuring your workouts to maximize muscle stimulation in those particular areas, for example- maybe by starting with them first in your workout. I’m basically searching for some workouts that can strengthen these weaker areas. Vince was a runner and what better candidate to talk about strengthening the knees, hip flexors, eh? I want to play this game for as long as I can and that is only happening if I train with the best information out there. I want to play and coach my kids (1 currently on the way). It’s corny, but I want to be Superdad.
    Thanks,
    Andy

  44. Sorry but forget about the top one – this one is my entry

No. 1 benifit of the No nonsesne DVD is that is has very useful information that no magazine or supplement can give you your whole entire life and i will always pick up something new from it.
I want to access it so i can build the body i’ve always wanted and it’ll get me noticed in public, turn heads when i’m walking and have people moving out of my way for fear and respect and get me the respect i deserve
I won’t even mind the jelouse looks from other guys! The DVD will also show me how each exercise is done RIGHT and the right tempo. The information will help me and stay with me for life!

  46. I hope this is the right place to post my answer to “What is the number one benefit and most important reason you want access to my No-Nonsense DVD Series?” and I hope that Wed. April 1 at 12 pm EST means noon because it’s already 10:40 pm Tues evening in San Diego. I’m a 62-year-old woman who used to weight train and just haven’t been able to get started working out again. I’m fed up with being flabby, 30 pounds overweight and tired all the time. I’m working as a secretary, want to get a better job, but too tired at the end of the day to do much of anything. I want my energy, endurance and strength back and I think Vince’s program is just what I need.. Thanks, Vince, for considering me for the prize.

  47. Hey, Vince,

I’m in Australia so the summer is almost over already so I’ve got a whole winter to workout before beach season comes back around.

I’m looking for a program that I can follow step by step with a nutrition plan that I can stick to. I’m a busy full time dad of two preschoolers with little time and a lot of heart so I need the workouts to be short and intense.

    Thanks for listening!

  48. I’m on the West Coast and just got home from a full day of work, so I think it’s actually 1:30 EST (10:30 here), so I’m likely no longer able to enter this contest, but I’d like to try for it just in case you’ll allow me to enter still. I feel that I’m a victim of all the lies as someone who has bought the eat less and work out more mantra of the fitness industry for years and am now is a place of a completely destroyed metabolism. I have to give my body some time to recover right now (Vince, I’ve been in contact with you so you know my personal situation) but as soon as I’m back at the gym, I want to really know how to do it right this time. This is why I want your DVD series. That’s the number one reason–I want the benefit of healthfully achieving the body that conventional wisdom has denied me.

    Thanks!

  49. I don’t want a copy of your DVD. It’s most likely as useless as all the rest of the stuff you are “angry” about. My first clue – you bashed the low-carb diet. I’ve been on low carb for over 10 years – gone from 145 – 195. Sure it’s not huge but it works.

  50. I always seem to get stuck in a workout rut. Variety and a challenge are very important to my training. I teach martial arts and love to weight train. I have incorporated many weight traingn movements in my kickboxing classes with and without exercise bands. I am always looking for new ways to not only challenge myself but my clients. My year round motto is ” pain is your friend, Summers coming”
