Green Tea and Spinach Shake (Recipe)

UntitledImage walking into the gym, looking at the weights and your head starts to wander.. You don’t feel like working out. You’re tired.

You and I both know that is pretty lame. Being tired is definitely not a reason to skip leg day (nor is not feeling like it). But you know that. After all, you’ve made it to the gym. It’s just the part where you have to ‘work’.

We’ve all been there. Unfortunately, it happens all the time.

But not for me.

I’ve discovered how to get yourself STOKED to starting lifting weights.

It has to do with your pre-workout nutrition.

Ever since I started doing this I haven’t once walked into the gym and thought ‘man, I don’t want to do this’. It’s quite the opposite.

I want to share with you a Muscle Charging Pre-Workout Shake that I personally use and love.

Combine this shake with my favourite pre-workout supplement (P.P.K.) and you’ll be so pumped at the gym that you’re gonna be the guy the most intensity (and we know that those guys always get the most attention).

 

Green Tea and Spinach

1 Cup Green Tea
1 Cup Spinach
1 Banana
1 Scoop Iso-Smooth Protein Powder
1/2 Cup Ice

Calories: 176
Fat: 2.8g
Carbs: 30.4g
Protein: 23.7g

As you can see I’ve made certain that this shake has a high percentage of carbs and proteins, which will give your muscles the energy and ability to maximize your muscle potential. This is a shake that I personally use and will always continue too.

If there’s an ingredient you don’t like in it, swap it out for a similar food and you’ll be fine 🙂

  2. Hey guys
    Carbs post workout are NOT evil however if you find that they make you sleepy and less effective in the gym, consider moving them further away from your pre workout window.
    The devil is in the dose. In this shake, you have 30grams of carbs which may give you the energy boost you need and minimize muscle breakdown.
    At the end of the day, the most important thing is to hit your daily cal and macro needs on a consistent basis.

  3. I’m asking same as Derek, as I too read Ben paks article on why carbs pre wo is not wise, and I think the info stems from poliquins work whom I know you consider the go to expert in this field so just why are you going against the advice of these guys and using carbs pre wo???

  6. Doesn’t boat say carbs right before the gym is not always a good thing. Due to the insulin spike or something ? Or is this a personal preference? Thanks in advance
