I’ll admit, this next video is a little long winded but this is a topic I take very seriously and that you should be well informed so that you can maximize your fat loss results and to protect your health and wallet.
If you’ve ever had an experience with the latest fat burning supplement then you’ll know they are notorious for over promising and under delivering.
There’s far more at stake here then the latest bodybuilding supplement stealing your money and laughing behind your back – today I will pull back the curtain in far greater detail.
Most fat burning products are sold under the counter with a variety of names like fat burners, thermo formulas, metabolic boosters, reducing agents and many more.
The fat burning supplements that do work contain drugs such as ephedrine and caffeine which are both very powerful stimulants and yes, they are drugs.
However, what supplement companies commonly do is take the herbal forms of those, for example, caffeine comes from a plant called guarana and ephedrine comes from a plant called ma haung, and they put it in their product so they can market it as “natural” or “herbal.”
My biggest issue is that fat burners will work in the short-term but they will not sustain you for the long-term which is why many people fall victim of roller-coaster fitness success.
Fat burners will increase your metabolism up to 10% a day which can be very effective when you’ve progressed down to a very low calorie diet and have progressed up to to the greatest energy expenditure. To summarize, when you can’t take in any less and you can’t put out any more – this is the one and only time I would endorse a fat burning supplement because it will help melt that final few pounds of fat.
Typically, the only people who reach this state are bodybuilders and fitness models on the final few weeks of contest preparation and those on the final few weeks of a transformation contest.
Fat burners also have a diuretic effect which leads to water loss and suppresses your appetite by manipulating your brain neuro-transmitters. They’ll also increase your heart rate which is why you’ll notice that you begin sweating earlier in your workout and they can also cause headaches and tremors on the intermediate side of things. On the extreme side, they can result in a stroke or death.
The extreme cases rarely happen but if occurs more often if you have high blood pressure or heart problems and you should always consult with your doctor before using them period.
So why are fat burners so effective?
Fast forward to about 4 and 1/2 minutes into the video to find out.
As you can see I compiled a massive amount of research into this video to bring you just the nuts and bolts of this subject of fat burning supplements so that you will be very well informed on this serious matter.
When you’re done watching, don’t forget to share your comments and your own opinions on this matter. I would love to hear them.
Train hard and train even smarter,
Vince DelMonte
Vince, you have provided an excellent video full of the exact and much needed information that not many are willing to discuss with the general public these days. The supplements are the bullet in the gun of the game “Russian Roullette”. It is unbelievable what the supplements do. Excessive water loss or a good amount of water loss leading to dehydration which will affect their blood, raised blood pressure and a result of increased heart rate causing the heart to work excessively hard, increased heart rate means that more blood is pumping to and through the veins of the neck and thus into the brain and it is no wonder that people, even healthy and physically fit individuals, can suffer heart attack and stroke. In no way am I ever going to put such things into my body and risk my brain receiving a clot and a stroke ensue, or I get a clot in my neck, or push the blood so hard through my main arteries or veins and a piece of plaque break off and cause me a stroke, or my heart become tired and weakened due to the overstimulation and the organ possibly balloon out from damage, requiring me to either take pills for the rest of my life or die. When some people have heart attacks, their feet may swell due to their kidneys being unable to get rid of the water, and when they are admitted to a hospital they will be given Lasix to remove the fluid that builds up around their heart. The supplements, because they get rid of water, make me wonder if they do not work that way in order to compensate for the effects that they will have on the heart. The FDA should be monitoring stimulants because when people have problems with their hearts and brains because of them, it costs not only them and their families time and money, it also costs health insurance providers money and time, resulting in higher costs for their consumers. Anyone thinking about using the supplements needs to first start taking their health and life more seriously, no matter their age or condition. Because, once they lose what they have, there may be no turning back. In my opinion, the supplement companies, manufacturers, distributors, marketers and the like, should take a look at what they are doing to people and the economy. It is obvious that people’s lives do not matter to them. It makes me glad to know that I am not paying them to push me into the grave.
Always consult your doctor before taking any supplements.
How hard does your liver have to work to purge these out of your system? Has there been any studies on these fat burners in relation to the liver. Even a simple pill like Ibuprofrin for pain puts a tremdous stress on the liver of the person taking them.
Thanks Vince for the info. I used to take hydoxycut or xenedrine but I started becoming dependant on it and thought I couldn't workout without them. For the average guy working out and want to shed fat I agree you shouldn't take these things. Have a cup of coffee get some good music on your ipod, have a plan and execute! Motivate yourself with your mind and focus for the entire workout. Don't read the paper between sets or look around the gym, do supersets, sweat your ass off! If your mind is not into the workout leave the gym and come back when you are focused. I just came back from the gym, did supersets with back, shoulders, legs plus jump rope. I was sweating like crazy! YOU DON'T NEED TO SPEND $60 PLUS DOLLARS ON THESE PILLS! Thanks VInce!
I agree with Vince, but I never believed in any of those fat burning pills.
I agree with vince body supplements are very addicting my friend alex was on a supplement called nitric oxide i think which is a high caffiene boost before his workout and he stopped taking it for awhile and had a massive headache and he looked like crap the whole day and he was literally sleeping on a couch while a bunch of my friends were watching tv. Obviously this supplement is very addicting
The Incomparable Steve Reeves, suffered a shoulder injury which forced his retirement. He spent the remainder of his life promoting drug-free bodybuilding.
I have always admired him for his speaking out about the drugs that the next generation of bodybuilders were taking.

Well Vince what about Applied Nutriceuticals RPM the Phytochemical Selective Androgen Receptive Modulator, Drive, or NeoVar that have been proven to work even better after use. Would you recommend these supplements like many IFBB pro’s do?? But of course we are not talking about people with high blood pressure and heart problems that shouldn’t even be thinking of taking such products unless they are asking for trouble.
First if all, to Kris Jacobs’ comment – I had shoulder surgery and it took a year and a half before I could do a push up (weight baring) and it still hurts but less and less each time, so hang in there. Just have to find the spot to strengthen and avoid the injured space….you’ll know it when you find it. I utilize my shoulder in my job, too; don’t believe the doctor that you can’t. In this world of fitness, you CAN. Remember that. I enjoyed this video since I am at the stage of looking for fat burning and was pleasantly surprised to see this video as the topic of the day. Thanks, Vince, you just saved me a ton of money!!! I always thought that the actual muscle building would absorb the fat and did not realize competitors, too, had to resort to other methods to get the stubborn fat off.
i agree with vince…..i have tried a fair few of suppliments an i dont think eny of them work…if ya wanna get there its all in ya head ….sycological just becuase youve taken pills/powder…this creats sumthing in your brain an makes you work out harder but the supliment hasnt actually done enythin……..and for the money we pay its not worth it at all
hard work an detemination thats the key
i would just like to know if xendarine weight-loss pills are safe and effective to take?
My name is Kris Jacobs. I am 5’11″ and weigh about 230. I have recently had shoulder surgery, and my shoulder is not getting any better after 9 months. My doctor said I have to find another profession to get into. I do commercial framing and sheetrock. I’ve worked out in the past, but had to stop because of numerous reasons. I guess you could say both of them being job related. I want to know what I can do to get the vitamins and minerals I am losing from not eating fruits and vegetables. If it comes out of a garden I won’t eat it. I have tried numerous foods and can’t seem to develop a taste for it. I want to start working out again just wanted to know what exercises I can do to prevent any further shoulder injury. thanks
In the past I have used lechitin and lipothropic factors, before, when I trained with weights. From what I understand they work on the liver, to get it working more efficiently. My Naturopath says that drinking the boiling parsley in hot water and driniking the water speeds up the process in the liver, too. Sounds wierd, though, I’ve heard that ground flac seed in hot water, taken on an empty stomach frist thing in the morning cleans out the system. Guess that rates as a supplement, though . . .
im confused by the claim that caffeine supresses the appetite, while i’ve read some articles that approves of that other articles don’t.
“Initially, caffeine may decrease appetite through its central nervous system response. However, subsequently caffeine increases cortisol levels, and higher levels of cortisol stimulate appetite.
Caffeine triggers hypoglycemia through the activation of the sympathetic nervous system and the adrenal glands, causing an immediate and sustained constriction of blood vessels, decreased circulation to the brain and a heightened feeling of low blood sugar. The body’s reaction to hypoglycemia results in food cravings and increased appetite. People often crave higher fat foods resulting in increased caloric intake, further interfering with the body’s ability to maintain a healthy weight.”
it’s hard to know what to believe i hope u can bring some clarity to that.
