Vince,
A few months ago I purchased a full copy of your training program from the internet. However for some reason the program didn't down load properly. I still recieve your emails and updates, but I dont have the 29 week program and the other offers I was promised when I made the initial purchase.

I've recently moved into our new house that I built and I built my own personal gym out the back. I've started some training, but i'm not sure how to continue, as im only going on the short video clips that come with your emails. My girlfriend and I are getting engaged this weekend and I want to shape up for the wedding. Can you please send me the program again, as I have sent emails about this before, but I'm not sure I sent them to the right place.

Cheers,

As a women I am not really interested in adding muscle mass but would like to understand the difference between adding mass and gaining definition. Does one have to add mass to gain definition or is it more a process of burning fat near the muscle, or both? How can one maximize definition without building mass in terms of how the body responds over time? If you can clarify this I am sure lots of other women doing weight work would appreciate it!<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('3813','Ellen'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('3813','Ellen','As a women I am not really interested in adding muscle mass but would like to understand the difference between adding mass and gaining definition.
Hey Vince!

Yes, it does take time for the nerves to fire -up the muscles and react. It is a chain of events...you have to stimulate with an intense workout, then allow the body to recover and respond by building itself up via new muscles.

With a recent herniated disc, I know all too well this process. My left leg is week due to the sciatic and inferior gluteal nerves being pitched. Slowly I am gaining strength back but it takes time and it is all due to the above explained chain of events that need to happen, starting with the nerves.

Nice blog Vince! ;-)

LOL... in response to my brothers being skinny.

Both of my brothers are national level endurance athletes. Adrian, 26, just wont the Canadian triathlon championships this past summer for his age group (25-29) and my youngest brother Michael, 21, is a national level middle distance (800m and 1500m) track star.

They both do some modifications of my full body workouts in the off season but not with the intention of building new muscle mass...

...maybe one day, if they ever retire from distance sports, they'll follow in their big brothers foot steps :)

Hey Vince,

This advice is really good for someone like me. I have had success with weight training for about a year, but with slow growth. It's OK. Not running any races.

Just a note. I had to take off from the gym for over a week because a friend died, and the family needed my wife and I. I felt really guilty because you burn very little when you are driving and not at the gym. I took Swiss Ball and a little iso thing I have to work out a little, but that got put aside also. I found out, though, that I ate a good breakfast, some snack meals on a granola base, and one meal somewhere of chef salad. I felt good and I don't look like I've put on 30 pounds.

Take Care<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('3809','halwithabs'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('3809','halwithabs','Hey Vince,\n\nThis advice is really good for someone like me.
Hi Vince!

I must say that this was something that truly opened my eyes of how the body works when it gets down to muscle building. I knew that it would take some time before the muscle-growth would occur after a completed workout, but now I know what causes the growth!

By the way. I'm from Sweden and I'm underway studying the English C course in my school, and we're working with a massive project with the baserules that whatever subject you choose to work with you have to focus on one English-speaking country. And of course my work is all about Fat Loss For Succers, almost similar to your work as personal trainer, what you reveal to us. And my question is if I could mail you some questions regarding Fat Loss, building muscle and gaining weight etc, almost like an interview?
If that sounds interesting, please send me an confirmation email so I know when I can start developing my questions.

Anywho, keep working hard Vince! I believe in both you and your programs! And soon I am also going to saddle up and ride the bull, which is your fat loss and muscle building programs!
Until next time

Best regards
Johan Wåhlin
