That workout looks insane! I’ll definitely have my wrestlers and fighters give it a shot to see who can make it through.
No joke! I tried this using a 50 secs interval. Did this for 2 sets, my heart was beating super fast! Today when I tried three sets, guess what? After my sets, I vomitted my post workout shake and I was gasping for air!
Hey there,,, I noticed on John Romaniello’s e-mail that after the baseline workout on Monday, he wrote that it’s the Reps and RESISTANCE that are increased on the Wednesday, whereas Arnel is saying that it is the Reps and ROUNDS on Wednesday, and the RESISTANCE increase is on the Friday, (with the Rest decreased)… Are you able to clarify that for us? Thanks.

I think in one of the videos Joel might have said that this was an 8 week program and I know that some of your programs are at least 16 weeks until you move on to the next phase. So what happens after the 8 weeks? And is this a workout that you do by itself or should I be doing it on my cardio days, like instead of cardio do these workouts and still be doing my regular weight training days?

1-can I do it more than once a day.? like 3 times or 4..?
2-do I need to make change in my diet (I calculate my cal)..?
3-can I do it daily or take at least a day rest..?

are you using creatine right now? just curious if you still use it when trying to cut a bit.

I actually use creatine all year round, like a multi vitamin and fish oils. It’s a standard intake.
@kristina – When you get used to this workout, then you may or may not be using enough weight or you’re doing it too slowly. This workout requires speed! Although after 3 weeks or maybe a few months, you body WILL get used to this workout, in which case you move onto something else and of course you could save this workout for later on.
@Nick – If there’s progression involved, then of course you can use it to build muscle!
Just make sure to either do each lift faster (aka more reps) or use more weight the next time you do this workout. This would be a great muscle building workout because you will have to keep going even if you think you can’t do any more.
isn’t it supposed to alternate upper and lower body? He got that wrong in the first set and you guys caught it. You guys should have shot it again
I love it and would like to workout like you guys and Flavia. Now Arnel is giving a change to get the program to 3 people how great is that. I hope I can get it. I’ve been working out at home for a while now and fallowing Arnel and Vince workouts taking you guys advice. I feel in a much better shape and healthy I feel with a lot of energy. I hope I can get my hands on the 1000 calorie challenge workout. Thank you.
I’d say Flavia is a machine!! She doesn’t even show fatigue!
@Kathy. Flavia tires but she does not SHOW it. She’s very composed and “calm under the storm.” Something we can learn from while training hard.
Hi Vince I just wanted to know that every exercise includes dumbbells or a barbell and of possible be able to use a smith machine or squat rack as well as all varities of the bench press Included in the workouts?
Also from what I heard in the video I believe you said you could use the 1000 cal workouts after or on different days in addition to my muscle building workouts is this all correct?

@Chris. You can use your smith machine for some exercise substitues. The power of the program comes from the Straight Line Progression technique and manipulating the 4 R’s in a structured and progressive fashion.
As for post workout cardio, that’s correct, you could do these workouts in place of slow cardio. I would suggest the 300 or 450 cal workout though, not the 1000 cal one. Save those for solo workouts because they are very demanding.

No doubt that this is going to work, but since i am more into the old school metod here, i think, that the workout you filmed at the Cheat Day for Joel, would if performed 3-4 rounds, burn also a LOT of cal’s.

what happens when your body gets used to this workout?
@Kristina. I highly doubt you’ll ever get used to these workouts. If you do, it’s because you’re not adjusting one of the four R’s – reps, rounds, resistance or rest. Start by resisting the rest and you’ll have a few more weeks of adaptation!

I have been watching your workouts for a long time and did several and agree 100%. But this one is nothing compared to the others you showed me. This will burn nowhere near 1000 calories unless you decide to bump up the weight more. Flavia isn’t even tired after 2 rounds, and you are breathing a little more than you need or you are out of shape. Send us the workout tips you use to before the 1000 calorie challenge. Your burnout videos are more intensive than this. Even though this sounds negative, I still look to you for great advice.
@Wes. Which workouts are you referring to?
Have you completed all five rounds yet? Don’t judge a book by it’s cover – I am not saying you’re not in shape but I would be extremely surprised if 5 rounds of this didn’t gas you to the floor. Give it a shot, the entire thing if you can and then let me know what you think. Thanks for watching.
