Beware of the FAKE BLOGS and Acai Berry Scams

By Vince On November 5, 2009 Under Featured Post, Training Supplements

It takes a lot to upset me but today my blood is boiling…  I swear I’m going to find out who these fake bloggers are, visit their home and wait in their driveway with a 9 iron.  Want to come with?

I would never resort to violence… but that’s what I feel like  doing when I just found these fake blog sites are using my after pictures to sell their Acai Berry weight loss miracle supplement.

What REALLY got me mad was that their ads (they usually say “1 Rule To A Flat Stomach – Obey” are running EVERYWHERE, even on porn sites  and I was notified by a reader that they saw my FRIGGIN after pic on a PORN SITE, linking to a FAKE BLOG that eventually promoted the  Acai Berry – which is just glorified and expensive fruit juice you don’t need to waste your money on.

Stay with me…cause I’m
typing fast right now.

These fake blogs are not selling just weight loss, they are selling anything that can be sold in a bottle/pill.  They have infiltrated the entire Internet with Resveratrol products, Colon Cleanse products, Wrinkle “Cures”, Men’s muscle building supplements and more.  If you ever land on a fake blog site, get off FAST.

If you see ANY ads that look like this…

1 Rule of a Flat Stomach – Obey

or
3 Rules of a Flat Stomach – You Must Obey

or

New Jersey Mom Got Skinny by Following 1 Rule

or

Chicago Mom Lost 52 lbs following 2 Rules

Don’t even bother clicking… those are going to fake blogs. My friend Mike Geary wrote a full out article on detecting these blogs which you should read:

http://www.truthaboutabs.com/the-flat-stomach-acai-scam.html Pass that link onto all your friends cause it’ll save you a phone call from them saying, “I just got ripped off!”

You can’t miss these fake blogs on the Internet – they all look  the same and I just learned from inside sources that they are pulling in over 100K a DAY – just from the acai berry.

It’s really upsetting because it’s regular folk who are falling for these fake blogs and the hopes that these miracle supplements (that cost 50 cents to make and sell for $50) will fix all their problems and deliver on it’s hype.

Why are certain people SO friggin stupid?

And it’s not just my pics that have been ripped off – my friend Arnel’s, Holly’s, Brad’s and a few others have been ripped off too and it’s impossible to contact these scum bags to get them to  take them off because they live in foreign countries so the FTC can’t even get their hands on them.

This is why I felt it was
critical to write you today.

First, you know better than to believe that popping some pills or powder is going to shed the inches off like magic.

Long term fat loss comes from training (I hate the world exercise – it lacks intention) and nutrition and lifestyle.  Fat is stored energy that MUST be burned off, not starved off.

Any reputable fitness expert would tell you that too.

Any any fitness expert worth their fees would NOT recommend you lose fat by drinking one food all day long and then eat a “sensible dinner” like the Acai bandwagon promotes.

What Makes This Subject
Really Touchy For Me…

My website clearly states that most supplements DO NO WORK so you can imagine when I even SAY the word “supplements” people start freaking out that I’m a “sell out”, “hypocrite,” “con artist”,  “douche bag”, “Guido” and lots of other interesting names.

Only my Italian friends are allowed to call me a Guido btw.

And I just recently posted a batch of videos I filmed while in Tampa Florida that shared the top four supplements I believe are in the small 5-10% that DO WORK and should be added to a fat loss and/or muscle gaining program.

These are just the BASICS.

I had some fun with the videos to make them entertaining and to give you some simple facts and reasons why I recommended these ones.

For FULL disclosure – I do make a small commission if you order these supplements (Heck, so does your sales rep at ANY supplement store) but I like you to know that I reinvest that back INTO my business to make more FREE videos for YOU.  I believe that’s a fair trade.

There ARE many reputable companies out there and if you have specifics, let me know, but one of the reasons I trust Prograde is because I saw first hand how many hoops they had to go through to meet standards.  I’m sure other companies do the same but I saw, with my own eyes what they had to go through, which was good enough for me.

Post your comments and thoughts and insights on anything I mentioned today on the blog… we’ll talk soon,

Vince,

Great post. I did a similar post calling out these guys as well a little while back.

http://fitnessblackbook.com/dieting_for_fat_loss/acai-berry-oprah-winfrey-dr-oz-colon-cleansing-and-fake-blogs-what/

In the comments in the post there are quite a few horror stories of people not being able to get their money back and cancel the auto-ship.

It is sad there are guys making 7 figure incomes by scamming people.

You have massive reach with your blog and list, it is good to see you using it for good.

Hey Vince,
How would the Workout supplement affect a type 1 diabetic?

Kody Ilkiw

November 5, 2009

so acai berry itself even in it’s freeze dried pure form doesn’t contain antioxidants and promote blood circulation??? i have been looking into this for a while now and have found a few sites that contain only health information and don’t try to sell you anything. I have been really impressed with Vince and his blogs could someone answer this or put their input in that would be great thanks kody. :)

Never fell for it again. But anyway, i also spot someone claiming to be from NEW ROSS in WEXFORD, my home town, claiming that this Acai shite is the biz!!! What a fukin joke n it rlly had me vexed!!! I cud carry on ranting but i’ll just leave it at this one point……………all those fukrs are like Vince said but in my words “thieving bastards”. They wud rob the taste off your tongue and the sight outta ur eyes given the first chance!! Rant over. Great post as always Vincey boy

@Kody Ilkiw

Kody,
Acai berry does have very high antioxidant levels. Like all antioxidants, it helps blood flow by preventing the oxidation of the Cholesterol plaques in the blood vessel walls. You see it is not cholesterol that is bad, it is OXIDISED cholesterol that is the problem – that is one of the many reasons we need antioxidants.

Now, don’t get me wrong – Acai is just one source of antioxidants (and an extremely good one too) but it is not the miracle that it is made out to be. So by all means, take acai berry in whatever form you like – just don’t have unrealistic expectations.

Disclosure – I do NOT sell any acai products, and I do not have a blog which is in any way associated with any acai products.

Vince,

Congratulations on an excellent post. Without any profanity, I would like to agree that these fakers (note the “a”) are the scum of the earth, along with all other spammers.

Their claims about Acai are outrageous, and give what is actually an excellent source of antioxidants a bad name…

I do have a health and fitness website, but you will note that I have not included the link. I am not writing just to get links back to my site, and I hope that my comments are helpful.

I fully understand your frustration (as I have also had images stolen), and the anger at the spamming industry. All we can do is exactly what you have done with today’s posting, and spread the word as far as possible.

Keep up the good work,

Trevor

Vince,

Its good to know someone is out there telling people, because I have been a victim of one of these sites I think it was http://www.acaiforcemax.com where they offered a trial where you only pay shipping and handling before I bought it I looked all over the site for conditions where you will be charged another amount after a given time period which I could not find. So I decided to purchase it it cost $13 shipping.

I then soon realised it was fake and the place they put the conditions (usually at a bottom of a page) was at the top in small writing where no one looks, very tricky. So i cancelled my credit card before they could take another payment out.

i heard about this a while ago and it sounded awesome cause the guy said that the actors of 300 used it. my first thoughts were “all right!!!”

recently, a read an article where somebody posted a comment that basically said they were related to an actor from the movie and he confirmed that they DIDN’T use acia.

everyone has an opinion and i guess you cant believe everything :(
if its to good to be true, it probably is ;)

best wishes

Dear Vince,

Well said. Thanks for being so upfront, sharing good information and pointing out the potential for being scammed if you aren’t careful on the ‘net.

As far as I’m concerned, your solid advice is worth any small commission you earn if somebody decides to buy a product after hearing your comments on it.

Stay well and stay strong

Joe

[...] You see normally there are a few people you could count on for sound advice but with the freedom of anonymity that the internet provides that just isn’t the case anymore. My friend Vince Delmonte who wrote the top ebook for helping skinny guys gain muscle recently posted as a facebook update that someone was using his after pictures in both pornographic websites and in an acai berry scam. If you want to read the rest of my rant read on. If you want to read it in his own words click here. [...]

Thanks for the heads up on the acai berry scam , it always looks to good to be on the up ! why would any company agree to send you any product for shipping alone? Should make you very suspicious , and this one is to get your credit card
number, after that it’s good bye funds from your account . How do we get to shut this site down and stop them from cheating any more innocent people ?
Thanks Vince ! Yours Sincerely .

Yes actually I’ve been aware of these bogus blogs for sometime now, and I never really bought anything except a free trial offer of acai. At that time I had cleaned up my diet and began to lose some fat, so I decided to try the product along with my routine, but can’t be to sure if it was the acai product or my clean eating that did the trick. Anyways the acai did have lots of fiber in it, so I didn’t have any problems with having a movement and as for the weight loss I’m sure it was my cleaned up eating habit.

Vinnie,
Great post about the fakers out there.
I’m curious though, what research did you do on the supplements that you recommend other than the info that you got from the company? I mean really, how can you at your young age say that Longevity does anything long term?

Patricia

Hi Vince,

I’m writing from Brazil, exactly where the acai berry comes from…and the funny thing is that we eat acai berry for decades now, but we DO NOT eat it for weight loss!

The berries are blended into a pulp and served with lots of honey (to disguise its muddy taste), banana and granola…it’s actually a caloric bomb that is mostly eaten after a workout by skinny men trying to gain weight. (200g has 570 kcal)

People who need to lose weight usually stay away from acai pulp. I avoid it like the plague!

I don’t even know how this idea that acai berry helps burning fat comes from…some good marketer.

i am going to try nick nilsons 28 days to maximum mass i was going to use acai in the week of training to promote my blood flow to muscles too help stretch the fascia any comments???

Stan Wells

November 6, 2009

@Kody Ilkiw – Acai berry is a very good anti-oxidant and if you take if for that reason you won’t go wrong. However, buy it at your big-box store’s pharmacy or some health food store in your home town. It will cost you considerably less and be just as good.

Although it is very good, you need several anti-oxidants to do the work of clean-up in the body. Read up on them and the ORAC measurements then make up your mind with the facts rather than the scam.

Vince

November 7, 2009

Acai does not increase blood flow….

Vince

November 7, 2009

Wow… if you have any other insights to share, please continue….

Vince

November 7, 2009

There are stacks of research supporting antixoxidant use to combat free radicals in the body. Can I prove it works in the long term? No.

Vince

November 7, 2009

Vote with your credit card. What sucks is that there are a lot of decent companies out there not associated with scams and there business hurts because of these scum bags making everyone fearful and skeptical…even the quality stuff out there.

Thanks Joe. I’m about relationships that are win-win although there is nothing wrong with helping someone else win even you get nothing in return.

Vince, so would you not endorse using antioxidants during fascia stretch then if the blood flow stays the same maybe hot and cold extremes to get heart pumping blood faster. A steam room to a cold shower and repeat???

where to buy acai

March 9, 2010

My sister has always had a fabulous body, even after two kids she looks just like she did in her 20's. I finally asked her how she did it, because I was killing myself at the gym and not seeing nearly the results that she was. She told me that she used natural acai berries as part of her weight control regime. I asked her where to buy acai and she gave me the website that she always goes to, they supply all natural acai and at prices that can't be beat anywhere else online. It's finally my turn to look as good as my sister.

Vince,

I saw one of these Acai Berry Flogs (fake blogs) using your picture on banners… I was actually writing an email to you to notify you because I couldn't imaging you'd endorse this.

…But then I though, Wait he's a fitness model… Of course! They probably paid for the rights to use his picture. So I didn't email you.

LOL sorry bud I'll email you and let you know next time I see it because I've seen your pic on a few of these scam sites.

"impossible to contact these scum bags to get them to take them off because they live in foreign countries so the FTC can’t even get their hands on them"

Need to correct you there – may of them ARE in the US and the FTC could easily get their hands on them. Also all the CPA affiliate networks that run these offers are in the US and the FTC could easily go after them too.

The 3 biggest acai scams are based in Florida, Utah and Sherwood Park Canada, so the FTC (and Canadian equivalent) could (and should!) go after them. http://www.webcops.net/just_think_media_spam_scams_8001….

Vince. Hey dude. I found one of the slimeballs for ya – he even gives step by step instructions on how to scam people with a fake blog: http://www.ahaze.com/20/how-to-build-a-flog/

Website belongs to a dude called Bryan Shearer, up in Pennsylvania. http://whois.domaintools.com/ahaze.com http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Bryan+Sh...

Acai berry is a great fruit, it is those irresponsible seller that scam.
