Message: If you’re eating out, take your own (why bother- let them bring their takeaways to your lunchroom) If you buy Butter Chicken, hopefully you aren’t stupid enough to think it’s Health Food, so eat it (except the skin)
If you are so infatuated with videos, please try them OUT of the car, a good physique is no match for an SUV at 90^

A big thing i see at work everyday is the lunchbox vs canteen dilemma. I always pack my own lunch along with a few others, but the majority will go with the usual fries, lasgane, pasta, rice combo… everyday!

some people are just too damn lazy to prepare their food and look after their health, and the sad thing is these lazy guys are parents who ‘treat’ their kids to fast food whenever they cant be bothered to cook, which is too often!

I got over the resistance to ask how something is prepared. If the place won’t tell me then I decide then and there to take my money elsewhere. I’ve only had an issue once. There are some places out there that will keep you on plan but alas they are usually a bit more than a fast food value meal at $4. I work by a place that will give you fresh roast turkey breast, vegetables (usually 3 to choose from), and basmati rice with a bit of veg for about $7 including tax. Roasting that turkey at home is inifinitely cheaper but occasionally convenience is more important. Keep up the vids!

If you’re going to say you are telling people how to eat out and not ruin their diet, then do it. Don’t say, bring your own…. Of course, cooking for yourself and measuring and knowing EXACTLY what is on your plate is what you want…. but there ARE ways to order from a menu and still have control. DON’T ORDER BUTTERED CHICKEN – DON’T ORDER ANYTHING WITH GLAZED PECANS AND GARLIC BREAD!!!!!

Last night my 9yr old son and I had father-son night and as we were sitting down to some great Texas BBQ, he said, “Daddy, you know, if you really want to lose weight, you should have them put half your meal in a to-go container.” He’s been watching some weight loss programs on T.V. I did have Turkey, but I didn’t exactly stick with the meal plan.

One of the great points you brought up that I do not think is hammered home enough is the idea that just because a food is “healthy” does not mean you can eat huge portions or snack on healthy food all day. If you can’t follow the meal plan exactly, but know the calories and approximate macronutrient ratios then you can go to a restaurant where they have some nutrition information posted so you can make a healthy selection. Also, most restaurants don’t have problem preparing the meal without special sauces, added fats, or toppings. And you can always say you have some kind of food allergy, have a health concern or are lactose intolerant and really love their restaurant but would just like to have the food prepared differently if it is OK with the chef.

Thank you Vince.

It is nice to nice people in real life like you just did. I already have the nutrition plan of yours that came with the nononsense. Pretty nice. I am sure that this one will be even better. Keep up the good work.

@Don – Don, I think your son is a genius! Reality check is people do NOT control their portions very well and the average person over consumes almost every meal they sit down to. It all comes down to portion control first, then calorie ratios next. Glad to hear you are sticking close to plan but still keeping that treat meal and keeping it clean. Keep up the great work.

@Raducu Nastase – You can buy a food scale on Amazon for $20 and a set of measuring cups at your grocery store for $2. There are also some great free websites that you can track your diet on, such as fitday.
