3 Transformations to Inspire Yours

1Thanks for the response Vince, it really means a lot to be encouraged by you.
When I first started going to the gym I would go and just kind of play around on the equipment without really working out.  It was more like a monkey see monkey do for me.  After about 6 months I decided I needed to actually do something that mattered at the gym.  After browsing on youtube and watching guys like Ben and Vince I really started to pay attention to how I was lifting.  Knowing when to lift, how long to stay in the gym, what to do afterwards and so many other helpful tips have really made a difference in defining my body.  One of my favorite tips from Vince comes from his No-nonsense muscle building.  In the first chapter he said this “Keep calling yourself a ‘hard gainer’ – or a ‘no gainer’ and don’t be surprised if you continue to waste time, effort and money.”  Once I stopped believing that I couldn’t gain I started to really convert my body fat to muscle.  The process to get where I am was not easy though.  One of the major obstacles I had to overcome was seeing the big guys at the gym lifting so much more weight than I could.  It made me feel weak and start to lose confidence in myself.   I eventually realized that I shouldn’t pay attention to what they were doing. I started to focus on what I was doing and I stopped caring about them.  The best advice I could give someone is understand it’s a process, you won’t get there over night and you will have ups and downs, just press on.

2It took me 14 weeks to complete my transformation. In the before picture I started my at around 163 lbs and 17% body fat. In my after picture I was down to 10.5% body fat at 145 lbs. The biggest achievement personally was finally being able to see my abs for the first time ever.

I have learned so many techniques for building muscle and nutritional advice from watching your YouTube videos and reading your emails over the years, its hard to pick one. I guess my favorite advice would have to be when I first started going to the gym I watched one of your videos on the basics of building muscle with compound movements and progressive overload. I really appreciated the scientific approach you took in explaining your techniques. From then on I was hooked.

One of the biggest challenges for me personally had always been sticking to a controlled diet. For the longest time I never saw any results because I ate the wrong foods and either ate too much or too little although I was working hard at the gym. Finding the right balance of what and how much to eat really helped me progress my goals.

The best advice I can give to someone else would be to come up with a plan and stick to it. There is a lot misleading information on the internet when it comes to fitness and nutrition and its easy to get confused Find a credible source and stick with it.  Stay focused and truly dedicated and the results will come. It will take time and effort Nothing good comes easy.  Be honest with yourself.

These are photos of my Fitness Success Story email that preceded. It includes my chronological body transformation photos.
These photos were chronologically taken from September 2013 to June 2014. My body fat and muscle mass yoyoed until March 2014 when I started seriously losing body fat. I lost 4.1% of body fat in 82 days from March to June.
